How to Install EndNote Plug-in in Apple’s Pages?

September 25, 2012 – Yingting Zhang

In order to make Pages work with EndNote, you need to download the EndNote Plug-in installer at After extracting and running the installer, you should be able to see “EndNote Citation…” under the Insert menu of Pages. Some other EndNote functions are listed under the Edit menu in Pages.

  1. Was this broken today with the new update to Pages? I cannot get it to work.

  2. Does it support automatic updating of references? I’ve used Endnote and Pages in combination before and my problem was that I had to update the references manually, which is the only reason I’m still on Word for Mac (really a pain!)

  3. What do you do when “EndNote Citation” is dimmed?
